Urology

We diagnose and treat problems with the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and reproductive organs, including:

  • Urinary tract stone disease (kidney, ureteric and bladder stones)
  • Female urinary symptoms and incontinence
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Male urinary symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia
  • Scrotal swellings
  • Kidney cancer
  • Bladder cancer
  • Paediatric urological problems

Prostate cancer

We offer a specialist one-stop clinic for new patients providing consultation, specialised prostate MRI scans (known as a multiparametric MRI) and prostate biopsies on the same day.

We are part of a clinical network with UCLH for the complex surgical management of prostate cancer.

Location

We provide outpatient services across two of our main hospitals in Epping and Harlow with a designated Urology diagnostic unit based in the Oak Unit at St Margaret’s Hospital. All inpatient work and specialist procedures are carried out at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
