We care for the deceased throughout the Essex and east Hertfordshire regions and deal with approximately 1800 deaths per year and performing over 700 post-mortem examinations.

Mortuary viewing facility
Our viewing facility is for relatives wishing to view the deceased prior to funeral arrangement.
This room is also used by the Police and Coroners Service in the event of body identification purpose. We respect all religious and cultural beliefs, and these are followed when caring for the deceased.
To make an appointment please contact the mortuary on 01279 82 7089 from Monday to Friday, 8am - 4.30pm.
On-call service
We provide an emergency 24 hour service all year around. You can contact us via hospital switchboard: 01279 44 44 55.
Bereavement services
Our bereavement team are here to give you support and guidance following the death of a loved one. You can contact the team on 01279 82 7090 or 01279 827428.
