Purple all-stars – supporting people with learning disabilities

We work closely with the purple all-stars, who are a group of people with learning disabilities who have a passion for helping people learn how to look after their health.

The group delivers health and social care messages in different forms of communication such as film, dance, songs, plays, art and photos. Take a look at some of their useful videos via this link.

Additionally, the hospital communication booklet can help with our patients that may have communication issues and all staff have access to this resource. This is through symbols, pictures and signs. Please contact the team for more information.

Inpatient comment:

Everyone offered words of such reassurance and kindness. I felt so cared for and the communication with me at all times was fantastic.
