We offer expert care and advice on a wide range of eye conditions.

Ophthalmologists see, diagnose and treat acute and chronic eye problems. Our team consists of ophthalmologists, nurses and eye healthcare professionals such as orthoptists, optometrists and ophthalmic technicians.

The Eye Unit

We are located in Building 8 at Princess Alexandra Hospital and our opening times are from 8.30am to 6pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. We open from 8.30am to 9pm on Wednesday and Thursday. 

You will be referred to us by your GP, optician, or as an outpatient or via the Emergency Department into our emergency clinic.

  • retinal vein occlusion
  • diabetic macular oedema
  • age related macular degeneration
  • vitreo-retinal surgery
  • medical retina
  • cataracts
  • glaucoma
  • disc abnormalities
  • diabetic screening
