Take on the Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of local hospital charity

The Princess Alexandra Hospital Charity is looking for keen runners to represent the charity in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. The charity currently has two open positions for participants to run, jog, or walk their way through the marathon, which is due to take place on 9 October 2022.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital Charity supports all of its patients, people, and visitors. The charity enhances patient care, purchases special equipment, improves facilities, and invests in vital research that supports patients now and into the future.

Gary Taylor, head of charity at The Princess Alexandra Hospital Charity, said: “Whether you are a seasoned runner or thinking of taking on your first half marathon, this is the perfect event for you.

“The 13.1-mile race takes a scenic route winding through four of London's Royal Parks and passes iconic landmarks including the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament.

“Run the flat course on closed roads, enjoy the amazing central London location and atmosphere and play your part in supporting our hospital charity.”

To apply for a place, please email paht.fundraising@nhs.net by Monday 22 August and successful participants will be contacted with further details.

Successful entrants will be required to pay an £50 entry fee.

Inpatient comment:

Everyone offered words of such reassurance and kindness. I felt so cared for and the communication with me at all times was fantastic.
