Services relocate to Gibberd Ward to support patient flow - paediatric outpatients' clinics

A range of services previously in the main building at The Princess Alexandra Hospital have relocated to Gibberd Ward, at the rear of the site, to support patient flow this winter.

From Tuesday (3 January), the paediatric outpatients' service will move to Gibberd Ward (Building 6), red zone. Gibberd Ward (Building 6) is shown on the map below, at the rear of the Derwent Centre.

Paediatric outpatient clinics

  • The clinic times remain the same
  • Opening hours and appointments remain the same at the new location between 8:30am-5pm
  • If possible, only one parent should be in attendance at the appointment due to space in the new location
  • Please note that the new location is away from the facilities in the main building, including the Alexandra Restaurant, Marks & Spencer and Costa Coffee
  • Contact details for any queries for appointments remain the same as in the letter or the text patients may have received
  • Paediatric outpatients' services at Herts and Essex Hospital, Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital, Epping, will be unaffected

This follows the move of phlebotomy, therapies and non-elective specialty procedures on 28 November. You can read more here >

Inpatient comment:

Everyone offered words of such reassurance and kindness. I felt so cared for and the communication with me at all times was fantastic.
