Our DAISY Award® winner for December 2024 is…

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) has announced the winner of its DAISY Awards® programme for December 2024.
The programme enables patients, families and colleagues to honour a nurse or midwife who has made a difference to their care. The aim is to shine the spotlight on nurses and midwives who go the extra mile to ensure patients at PAHT receive high quality care and experiences.
The winner for December 2024 is Jesse Loganathan, from Harlow, a sister on Harvey Ward. Jesse received multiple nominations from colleagues who all noted her dedication and commitment to the care she gives her patients; and the way in which she supports her colleagues too. Colleagues took the opportunity to highlight her exceptional work ethic, and her ability to maintain an unwavering level of dedication and focus, even in the face of challenging workloads.
Sharon McNally, chief nurse and Giuseppe Labriola, deputy chief nurse, surprised Jesse at work yesterday (29 January) with the DAISY Award which includes a DAISY Award® certificate, a beautiful hand carved Healer’s Touch Sculpture from Zimbabwe, a pin badge, copy of the full nomination, a gift bag and cinnamon rolls.
Sharon said: “The DAISY Awards are an opportunity for patients, families and colleagues to honour nurses and midwives who make a difference; and it is clear from the nominations received for Jesse that she puts her patients, and colleagues, at the heart of everything she does.
“I was delighted to surprise Jesse with the DAISY Award today and would like to extend a heart-felt thank you on behalf of the trust for all she does to support the patients in her care, and her colleagues too.”
DAISY Award® winners are also entitled to numerous professional development, education and wellness benefits.
