Hospital seeks local artists to enhance look and feel of new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Epping

The new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping is due to open in January 2026, and we are calling on the support of local artists to donate artwork to help enhance the look and feel of the development.
Given its location on the edge of Epping Forest, the aim is to introduce artwork that reflects a woodland theme to celebrate the beauty, calm, and tranquility of nature through trees, wildlife, and peaceful landscapes; and create a warm and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
The project also supports the CDC’s vision to deliver compassionate, timely, and seamless diagnostic services that help reduce health inequalities and drive better health outcomes for all. The artwork, once in place, will play a meaningful role in enhancing the space and supporting wellbeing in the community.
Tom Burton, chief finance and infrastructure officer, said: “This is a unique chance for local artists to showcase their talent, gain exposure, and donate artwork to a space that supports health, healing, and community connections. All types of mediums will be considered including paintings, illustrations, photography and mixed media.
“We look forward to working with local artists interested in supporting our new CDC at St Margaret’s Hospital; this amazing facility will support our local people and we would love it to be made even more special with art from our local community.”
How to register interest
Any local artist interested in getting involved should contact Chloe Rundall, Alison Kingston-Pack and Isabel Kucuk from the CDC team to express their interest by 31 July, by emailing chloe.rundall@nhs.net, alison.kingston-pack@nhs.net, and i.kucuk@nhs.net
Chloe, Alison and Isabel will be able to share further information about the process, what is required, and the deadlines being worked to.
It is anticipated the artwork selected will be put into place during November 2025, ahead of the opening in January 2026.
