Hospital appoints new medical director

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is delighted to announce that Dr Fay Gilder has been appointed as its new medical director.

Fay joins PAHT from Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUHFT), where she is currently a consultant anaesthetist and the clinical director for improvement and transformation.

She will take up her post at PAHT on 2 November, after more than 25 years at CUHFT.

Fay said: “I am delighted to be joining The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust at such an exciting time.

“I am passionate about openness, diversity of thinking, knowledge sharing and technology as ways of enabling great clinical outcomes together.

“I am very much looking forward to working with all of my colleagues at PAHT to support the delivery of our ambitious plans as we move in to a new hospital.”

Lance McCarthy, chief executive of The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT), added: “Fay joins us with a wealth of experience in senior leadership roles and is driven by improving the quality, safety and experience of care for patients and the working lives of staff.

“I am extremely pleased to have appointed Fay to this key role at PAHT and very much look forward to welcoming her to the team in the autumn.”
