Coronavirus (COVID-19) FAQs

Are doulas still allowed? - If this is your birthing partner yes but you will not be allowed an additional visitor

What does this mean for birthing partners? - Only one will be allowed

Are midwife appointment still going ahead? - Some are being triaged over the phone to enable us to reduce the amount of face to face contacts 

Are antenatal and scans going ahead? - Some are being triaged over the phone but generally as many as we can are going ahead

Are consultant appointments going ahead? - Some are being triaged over the phone to enable us to reduce the amount of face to face contacts 

Are glucose tolerance tests for pregnancies going ahead? - These are still going ahead at present

Face coverings

  • Birthing partners, people attending antenatal appointments, scans and attending for assessment are all required to wear a face covering.
  • This WILL NOT include women who come in contracting / in labour. 
  • Women WILL NOT be required to wear a face mask whilst in labour.
  • During a hospital stay women will be given a face mask and further advice on when and where they are expected to wear them.

Social distancing should still occur between patients.

The staff and care have been excellent. They have made sure I have felt comfortable, secure and safe. They are wonderful and exemplary in their commitment.
