The Chaplaincy Team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is offering residents of Harlow and surrounding areas an opportunity to volunteer at The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH).
The team is welcoming applications from individuals interested in helping to provide comfort, spiritual and religious support, and a caring presence to patients, their families, carers, and staff. No experience is needed – just a compassionate heart and a willingness to listen.
To support new volunteers into this role, the Chaplaincy Team is hosting a free 10-week training course in The Learning and Education Centre at PAH, which will take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm every Tuesday from 19 May through to 21 July.
Revd. Dr Christian Okeke, Head of Chaplaincy at PAHT, said: “The role of our chaplaincy volunteers is about being present, listening without judgment and offering human connection in moments that truly matter.
“Our team of volunteers make a real difference to the lives of patients in the care of the hospital and I would encourage anyone who feels they could support others, to take this opportunity for free training, and the opportunity to make a difference.”
