The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is making a small inflationary increase to patient and visitor car parking charges at The Princess Alexandra Hospital from Tuesday 17 November 2026.
The increase is based on the April 2026 Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rate of 2.6% and has been rounded to practical 10p increments. The first 20 minutes will remain free, supporting patients and visitors who are dropping off, collecting or attending very short appointments.
The Trust reviewed car parking charges in 2025 to introduce shorter tariff bands and better align charges with the amount of time patients and visitors are on site. The new inflationary increase is intended to keep charges aligned with rising operating and maintenance costs through smaller, regular updates, rather than allowing charges to fall behind and requiring a larger increase in future.
Catrin Asbrey, Chief People Officer at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, said: “We know that car parking charges are an important consideration for patients and visitors when coming to hospital. We have kept this increase as small as possible, in line with inflation, while ensuring we can continue to maintain safe, accessible parking for everyone who uses our hospital site. The first 20 minutes will remain free, and our free parking arrangements for eligible patients and visitors will continue.”
Free parking arrangements will continue to be available for registered Blue Badge holders, parents and guardians who need to stay overnight with young people in our care, frequent outpatient attendees, and other eligible patients and visitors with particular needs. Patients and visitors are encouraged to plan their journey in advance and allow plenty of time to park, as there continues to be high demand for spaces at the hospital.
