We have appointed our former Acting Chair, Darshana Bawa, as substantive Chair of The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) Board.
Darshana has been in post as Acting Chair since 31 March 2025 and was successfully appointed to the role of Chair on 1 May 2026.
Darshana was previously a Non-Executive Director and Senior Independent Director on the PAHT Trust Board, joining in 2021. She is a Finance Director, with extensive financial and commercial leadership experience.
Darshana said: “’I am delighted to be appointed as the substantive Chair, and to continue working with and for PAHT. It’s encouraging to see the improvements already taking shape across the Trust, and I’m keen to see that momentum continue.
“My focus will be ensuring that the Board works with clarity, openness and a shared sense of purpose, so that we can continue moving the organisation forward with confidence.”
Thom Lafferty, Chief Executive, added: “Darshana has been our Acting Chair since Hattie Llewelyn-Davies left the Trust a little over a year ago. She came into post roughly six months into my time as Chief Executive and I have been so pleased to work alongside her.
“We share ambitions of driving improvement for our patients and creating a warm, welcoming environment where staff can excel. I look forward to us continuing to work together to such good effect.”
