The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) was proud to mark International Nurses’ Day (12 May), a time to recognise and celebrate the dedication, skill and compassion of nursing colleagues across the Trust.
As part of the celebrations, senior nursing colleagues visited wards delivering cakes to nursing staff and the winners of the Annual Nursing Awards were announced at a special ceremony:
- Specialist Nurse of the Year, Winner: Binjy Biju, Practice Development Nurse on the Endoscopy Unit
- Rising Star, Highly Commended: Monika Abhinav, Registered Nurse on Kingsmoor Ward
- Rising Star, Winner: Akhila Benny, Registered Nurse on Charnley Ward
- Inspiring Leader, Highly Commended: Helen Weaving, Children’s Matron
- Inspiring Leader, Winner: Rebecca Lashley, Senior Sister in the Emergency Department
- Nurse of the Year, Highly Commended: Sruthi Lathikha Kumari, Registered Nurse on Lister Ward
- Nurse of the Year, Winer: Tabitha Floyd, Registered Nurse on Charnley Ward
- Nursing Team of the Year, Highly Commended: Radiology
- Nursing Team of the Year, Winner: Williams Day Unit
- Patient Panel Award, Highly Commended: Neha Somarajan, Registered Nurse on Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
- Patient Panel Award, Winner: John Manlutac
