Tissue viability service

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is committed to completely eliminating pressure ulcers across The Trust.

The Tissue Viability service supports wards and departments to manage and treat patients with complex wounds and pressure ulcers. If you have a wound that is not healing or that is of concern to the team caring for you, you may be referred to the Tissue Viability nurses.

We treat:

  • Pressure ulcers
  • Surgical wounds not healing as expected
  • Haematomas
  • Skin tears
  • Trauma wounds
  • Infected wounds
  • Fungating cancer wounds
