The communications team is responsible for media and stakeholder relations, internal communications and digital communications for The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.

Office hours

Our office is open from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. All media enquiries must be directed to the communications team so that we can assess your questions, ensure they are dealt with appropriately and that all information you receive is accurate, consistent and up-to-date.

During out-of-hours, weekends and bank holidays, please call 01279 444455, where your enquiry will be picked up by our on-call executive.

Our primary concern is the welfare of our patients, and we reserve the right to decline media requests if we feel that they would disrupt patient care or conflict with our duty to protect the confidentiality of our patients or people. Please note that all media requests for patient information will require the express consent of the patient or their relatives. Without consent, no patient information will be disclosed. 

Interviews and filming requests 

Under no circumstances can interviews, filming or photography be carried out on or around the hospital sites without the express permission of the communications team. This includes our patients, our people or our buildings.

If you carry out any filming or photography without the permission of the communications team, our security team will request that you leave the site immediately. If you need further information or would like to arrange an interview with a member of our people, please contact the communications team.

Proposals for filming will be considered and organised where possible and if appropriate. All proposals need to include the following information:

  • Name and organisation
  • Production working title
  • Delivery format
  • Target audience
  • Duration
  • When will it be shown/whether it has been commissioned
