On 20 January 2025, Secretary of State Wes Streeting announced that The Princess Alexandra Hospital would be in ‘wave two’ of the Government’s New Hospital Programme.
For us, that means construction isn’t expected to start until 2032.
In this timeline you can follow our progress as it happens. From early ideas to final design concepts. From when we ‘break the ground’ to when we open our doors. And a host of other key events, moments and milestones in between.
It’s important to note that even with the construction start date, timings are subject to change so we haven’t included any dates. As the build programme will last several years, keep scrolling down to see all the key stages of our journey!
