Our aim is to build on a greenfield site, creating a place of vitality and wellbeing in a therapeutic landscape with a strong connection to nature.
Rooms with a view
Our new hospital will make the most of its connection with nature.
Gone will be windowless corridors and plain rooms.
Inpatient beds will have stunning views and internal spaces will be flooded with natural light.
A range of landscaped, multi-use outdoor spaces will promote rest and recuperation as well as opportunities for exercise and mobility.
Both inside and out, nature will never be more than a few steps away.
We will be preparing a comprehensive travel plan with local councils and specialists to promote sustainable travel to and provide appropriate vehicle space and car parking on our new site.
Our priority concern is that all necessary journeys to our new hospital are convenient, affordable and quick for staff and patients.
Further work on transport is being undertaken by appointed our traffic and highways consultants.
This new hospital is the cornerstone of our regional economic development plan. It will catalyse a wider programme of regeneration that includes housing, transport infrastructure, jobs and more.
