Patients referred to Broomfield Hospital Plastic Surgery Dept (164kB pdf)
Attending Your Appointment
Please report to the Hand Trauma Clinic at the time shown above. As the Plastic Surgery Department is a regional referral centre, several patients may be attending for assessment on the same day. This can sometimes result in longer waiting times. We recommend bringing refreshments, reading material or another activity to help make your wait more comfortable.
Please arrange for someone to drive you to and from the hospital if possible, as you may not be fit to drive home should you require a procedure or surgery on the day of your appointment. In some cases, you may be assessed and asked to return on another day for surgery.
Eating and Drinking
Most patients attending the Hand Trauma Clinic do not require a general anaesthetic on the day of assessment and may eat and drink as normal unless specifically advised otherwise. The surgeon will discuss your treatment options with you and explain any procedures that may be required.
