We are inviting local people to join our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to hear about the progress being made across our hospitals, find out more about future plans for care, and ask questions of our leadership team.
The AGM will take place on Wednesday 23 September at the Council Chambers in Harlow from 6pm-7.30pm.
At the event, we will share more about our new Rise strategy (2026-2031), which sets out our ambition to transform healthcare for local communities by creating rising hope, rising communities and rising standards. Built around three core elements — Recover, Renew and Rise — the strategy will guide how we continue to improve care, raise standards and work with local people to shape services that better meet their needs.
The event will feature updates on:
- Improving care and reducing delays: Find out how we are supporting safer, more timely discharge, freeing up hospital capacity and helping to reduce delays or cancellations.
- Plans for future healthcare: Learn how the New Hospital Programme and neighbourhood health centres will support more modern, joined-up care closer to home.
- Digital innovation for patients: Hear about the My Alex Health Patient Portal and new approaches to clinical correspondence, supporting better access to information and an improved patient experience.
During the AGM, our executive team will review the year, share updates on operational and financial performance, and answer questions from attendees. Clinicians will also talk about significant service developments and how these are already supporting improvements for patients.
There will also be opportunities to meet our new community ambassadors and learn how hospital teams are working alongside local people to design services for the future.
Thom Lafferty, Chief Executive, said: “Our Annual General Meeting is a valuable opportunity for local people to hear directly from the teams caring for our communities, understand the progress we are making, and help shape what comes next.
“This year, we will be sharing more about our new Rise strategy and what it will mean in practice for patients, families and local people — from improving services and supporting more timely discharge, to progressing plans for a new hospital, developing neighbourhood health centres and the further use of digital tools such as the My Alex Health Patient Portal.
“Attendees will hear from our clinicians about the developments already making a difference for patients, have the chance to ask questions, and meet our new community ambassadors. We want this to be a welcoming and informative event for anyone who wants to know more about their local hospitals and the future of care in our area. I hope many people will join us.”
