Designed for future generations, it will be a breakthrough building in modern healthcare delivery. Technologically innovative and efficient. Able to adapt swiftly to innovation and change. Our intention is to be one of the first fully electric hospitals in the UK with a net zero carbon footprint!

As one of the ‘wave two’ hospitals in the Government’s New Hospital Programme, ours is an important and high-profile project. We are proud to be part of the biggest hospital building programme in a generation.

The New Princess Alexandra Hospital will transform health prospects in Harlow and the surrounding areas. It will act as a magnet for healthcare professionals around the country and come to work. It is one of the most important projects in Harlow in a generation.

Our new hospital will bring:

through new models of care which will lead to a reduction in the need to visit and stay in hospital for long periods of time. This will mean fewer hospital acquired infections, reduced isolation and functional decline for older patients in particular

through access to a range of green spaces and places to relax, rest and exercise

by reducing carbon emissions and supporting local biodiversity

through employment opportunities during the construction phase and in the new retail spaces
