A group of Harlow police cadets have kindly raised funds to contribute to holistic care for patients with dementia and who have experienced a stroke.
On 11 March, the cadets invited Caroline Ashton, dementia clinical nurse specialist, to attend their meeting, where they presented The Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Charity with a cheque for £72 (pictured).
They raised the funds via a quiz night and have previously supported other appeals at the hospital including for enhancing the Gibberd Ward garden.
The money will be used for doll therapy, in which patients are given baby dolls for relaxation and improving wellbeing.
Caroline Ashton, dementia clinical nurse specialist at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, said: “We are very grateful to the Harlow police cadets for their kind gesture in supporting patients at their local hospital.
“Doll therapy helps many of our patients to feel more comfortable in a hospital environment and can inspire a renewed sense of purpose.
“Thank you to the Harlow police cadets for your generous fundraising.”
