Dementia care at PAHT has been selected as one of Harlow Council’s chosen charities of the year.
The official announcement was made at the Full Council meeting yesterday (Thursday 20 May).
The council will support our charity’s dementia care fund for the next year.
Caroline Ashton-Gough, dementia clinical nurse specialist, (pictured), said: “This is a much needed boost and very timely for Dementia Action Week.
“Thank you to Harlow Council for supporting our patients with dementia – we look forward to working together to further improve the experience of our patients.”
Mari-Louise White, head of fundraising at The Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Charity, said: “It is fantastic to see that our charity’s dementia care fund has such support in our community.
“We are very grateful to the new chair of Harlow Council, Councillor Clive Souter, the new vice chair, Councillor Maggie Hulcoop, and all of the council for this kind gesture.”
Councillor Clive Souter, chair of Harlow Council, said: “The dementia care team at Princess Alexandra carry out extremely valuable work in improving the quality of life for people living with dementia.
“I am proud to support their fundraising efforts and look forward to helping raise much-needed funding for this important work.”
The council will also support the Harlow Stroke Support Rehab Centre as the second chosen charity of the year.
