The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) has announced the winner of its DAISY Awards® programme for December 2025.
The programme enables patients, families, and colleagues to honour a nurse or midwife who has made a difference to their care and have gone the extra mile to ensure patients receive high-quality care and experiences.
The December 2025 DAISY Award® was presented to Titilayo Kazeem (known as Fatima), from Harlow, a registered nurse on Netteswell Ward.
Fatima was nominated by a patient she has cared for on a couple of occasions in recent years. The nomination reflected not just on her dedication, commitment and professionalism, but her empathetic approach; and how she takes time to get to know and understand the needs of patients in her care. They commented that Fatima was “born to be a nurse and truly deserves this recognition.”
Jo Ward, Interim Chief Nurse, surprised Fatima at work yesterday (10 February), where she presented her with her DAISY Award® certificate, hand-carved Healer’s Touch Sculpture from Zimbabwe, pin badge, copy of her nomination, gift bag and cinnamon rolls – a meaningful tradition of the award.
Jo said: “This nomination clearly demonstrates how Fatima goes above and beyond to ensure she meets the needs of patients in her care; putting them at the heart of all she does.
“I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to Fatima for all she does to not only support her patients, but their extended family too.”
DAISY Award® winners also receive access to professional development, education and wellness benefits as part of the programme.
