The chair of our Trust Board, Hattie Llewelyn-Davies, is to leave PAHT on 28 March.
Hattie (pictured, top right) has been appointed to the role of chair at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), which she starts on 1 April. Hattie joined the PAHT Trust Board in September 2021.Darshana Bawa (pictured, bottom right), currently a non-executive director and senior independent director on the PAHT Trust Board, will take up the role of interim chair for the next year.
Hattie has extensive experience as chair of NHS organisations, having chaired Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) and Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. She sits on the board of NHS Providers and the steering group of the Disabled NHS Directors’ Network (DNDN).
Before joining the NHS, Hattie held a number of chief executive and senior management roles in the housing and homelessness sector; and was awarded an OBE for services to homeless people in 2004. Hattie was also recognised by the Sunday Times as Non-Executive of the Year for the Public and Not for Profit Sector in 2019. Hattie chairs Eastlight Community Homes, a housing association based in Essex and works with a wide range of housing organisations on governance, strategy and resident involvement.
Hattie said: “I have immensely enjoyed my time as chair of the Trust Board and it has been wonderful to meet many of our people since I joined in September 2021.
“I have felt very lucky to be part of our amazing journey of improvement and to get to know so many colleagues and patients. It has been like being part of a very special community of people who put patients at the heart every day. Thank you to everyone who has welcomed and worked with me to strive to make PAHT an even better place for our patients and our people – my heartfelt congratulations to Darshana on her appointment.”
Darshana added: “I am both honoured and delighted to be taking on this role, and grateful for the opportunity. I very much look forward to working with everyone to build on Hattie’s great achievements to date.
“I am focused on our role as an anchor institution for our community and enhancing the care and services we provide.”
