Preferred way forward for new hospital receives full Board support

Today (7 March 2019) the Board of The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust gave their unanimous support to the proposed preferred way forward for a new hospital for local people.

Lance McCarthy, chief executive, The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, said: “I am delighted that the preferred way forward for a new hospital has been supported.

“This is an exciting time for us all and the decision means that we can move to the next stage to secure funding and consult with our patients, local people, our staff and everyone living and working in the communities we serve.

The proposal was considered at the Trust’s public Board meeting that was attended by a number of patients, staff and local people.

Lance McCarthy, added: “It was great to see and hear from many local people who attended the meeting and to share with them the details of the preferred way forward and the next stages of the complex plans we will now develop.”

The Board papers are available on our website.
