Community midwives are based throughout West Essex as well as at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Community antenatal clinics are run in Epping, Saffron Walden, Dunmow, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill, Waltham Abbey and the surrounding areas.
During your pregnancy, you will be looked after by your Community Midwife team and GP. The Community Midwife teams will see you for your antenatal care in community clinics. You will still need to come into Princess Alexandra Hospital for your scans and blood tests.
If you have pre-existing medical conditions or develop complications during your pregnancy you will have some of your appointments at the hospital's Consultant led antenatal clinic, with antenatal clinic Midwives available for any questions or concerns you may have. Please ask at the antenatal clinic reception if you would like to speak to a Midwife before or after your appointment with the Doctor.
You can self-refer to a community midwife here.
