Alex Scott, Fire Safety and Conflict Management and Christian Okeke, Hospital Chaplain will attempt to run on a treadmill and cross-trainer for 12 hours straight from 7am to 7pm on Wednesday 21 December.

Christian Okeke, Hospital Chaplain said: "Alex and I have been training day and night for this for months now. It is going to be a tough challenge, but completely worth it if it means we can raise some money for the hospital."

Alex approached Christian with the idea as a way to raise morale for patients and staff within the hospital.

Alex said: "I do a lot of fundraising outside of work and thought it was about time I do something which will give something back to the hospital. That's when I thought it would be a great idea to approach Christian and together we could breathe some positivity into the Trust and boost morale. It is our intention to complete a fitness challenge every month in the New Year to raise money for the Princess Alexandra Hospital Charity."

Jamie Pring, Fundraising Coordinator said: "It's so great that both of them have decided to do this. We really rely on the public and our staff to do these events and help us raise some greatly appreciated funds for the hospital. We use all the money raised to enhance patient care, purchase special equipment, improve facilities and fund vital research. So far this year we have organised bike rides, skydives, fun runs and now a 12 hour fitness challenge. If you are interested in pushing your limits for a good cause, please get in touch."

To witness this tenacious pursuit and cheer them on, people are more than welcome to visit the foyer outside the restaurant on the lower ground floor and make a donation.
