Steve Clarke, chairman

Steve has served on NHS boards in an executive capacity for nearly 30 years and is an experienced public sector manager with a background in local government.

 

In addition to several roles as a chief executive, Steve's roles on these NHS boards have largely been as finance director, for a range of bodies including Health Education England and Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs). During his career, he has coupled his professional executive director role with wider responsibilities which have focused on primary care, ambulance services, performance management, information technology and corporate services.

 

Steve has some charity sector experience, having been trustee and honorary treasurer of the NHS Confederation, and he is currently trustee and honorary treasurer of a national charity, Dementia UK
