Occupational Therapy (OT)

Occupational therapy

Occupational Therapists play a crucial role in helping people of all ages overcome the effects of disability caused by illness, ageing or an accident, so you can live your life to the fullest.

We put you at the centre of what we do, to help you improve the skills needed for day-to-day activities, as well as showing you adaptations to aid with your personal development.

Assessments are tailored to your individual needs and take place on hospital wards or in our assessment areas. We use hospital facilities to replicate your home environment, to help you feel confident about moving independently at home.

If you or a member of your family has concerns while in hospital about managing activities in your daily life, such as washing, dressing, preparing meals and domestic chores, please ask your nursing or medical team to refer you to Occupational Therapy.

Inpatient comment:

Everyone offered words of such reassurance and kindness. I felt so cared for and the communication with me at all times was fantastic.
