Hospital Launches Maternity Helpline

The Maternity Department at Princess Alexandra Hospital have launched a brand new one-stop maternity helpline.

This helpline will provide families with rapid access to professional, evidence-based antenatal and postnatal information and advice.

The line is open Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm and operated by a team of senior midwives.

Jacqui Featherstone, Head of Midwifery commented on the new service 'The introduction of the helpline means we are able to offer advice from senior midwives to women throughout their pregnancy and until their baby is 28 days old.’

‘The team will provide professional information and appropriate advice to answer women's queries and concerns; this will also avoid any unnecessary admissions to hospital for women and their babies.’
