Kingsmoor Ward cares for a wide variety of elective surgery with an expected stay of three to seven days.
This includes general surgery, gynaecology, breast, urology and patients who have procedures in the radiology department.
Patients are usually received on the ward immediately following their surgery.
Doctors rounds take place every morning to decide the plan of care for the day. Other members of the multidisciplinary team e.g. physiotherapy, also participate in care.
Patients may be asked to wait in the Discharge Lounge on the day of discharge to facilitate admission of that day's theatre patients.
