The Theatre team will ensure that you, your relatives, carers and friends receive the information and support needed during your time with us.
If you require specialist surgery for example heart, transplant, chest or neurosurgery you will be referred to one of the dedicated London Hospitals.
Specific Patient Information
You will be given information about your procedure either by your consultant or at the pre-operative clinic.If you have any questions about your operation please do not hesitate to ask a member of the team.
There may be occasions when you have been guaranteed a bed but are fit enough to go home on the same day.Please ensure that you have plans in place for leaving hospital should this happen. However there maybe other instances where you are required to stay overnight.
If you have planned surgery you will be seen by the Same Day Admissions team prior to your operation. Unless you need assistance you will be asked to walk to the appropriate area in preparation of surgery.
Once the surgery is finished you will be taken to your designated ward.
