Women in East Hertfordshire can also book a tour of the unit by calling 01279 444455 (extn: 2456). These take place each Sunday. Women in West Essex can book a tour via their Community Team Midwife as part of their Parent Craft Education.
Spaces are limited so please do call us in advance to reserve a place. Partners are welcome to attend but regrettably children cannot come with you due to the risk of infection to the babies on the ward.
Building works in Maternity
From 18th February 2013, building works will be taking place on the Hospital's Labour Ward and Birthing Unit. This is to improve the facilities by adding ensuites to each of the delivery rooms.
Any disruption will be kept to a minimum however we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Access to the units will remain open as usual.
