Points-based calculator
This tool allows you to calculate how many points you may get, and indicates whether you may be eligible to work or study in the United Kingdom under the points-based system.

If you are applying under tier 2 or tier 5 you must have a certificate of sponsorship. If you are applying under tier 4 you must have a confirmation of acceptance for studies. If you do not have either a certificate of sponsorship or a confirmation of acceptance for studies you may not have enough points to pass this tool, but you can still use it to calculate your points.
If you are a national of a country from within the European Economic Area (EEA) you do not need to apply to work in the United Kingdom. The points-based calculator should take about 10 minutes to complete, and your points for each section will show at the top of the page. Your session will time out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
