The Roding’s Midwifery Practice consists of a team of four midwives and one maternity care assistant.
We provide community based pregnancy and postnatal care to all women in Great Dunmow and Stansted.
We also provide a full home birth service plus antenatal, postnatal and parent education classes. On occasions the team work in the Princess Alexandra Hospital itself.
As a team of dedicated midwives, we believe in women centred care and aim to provide a comprehensive midwifery service.
We can discuss your birth plan with you and as appropriate can offer you the option to have your baby at home or the Princess Alexandra Maternity unit, either on the Birthing Unit or Labour Ward.
We will endeavour to provide up to date information to all out clients which in turn enables you to make informed decisions regarding the care you want.
Once you have had your baby, the midwife will visit your house the day following your discharge from hospital where the midwife will plan further visits with you, either at home or at postnatal clinics as you and your baby require.
All the Midwives and the Maternity Care Assistant are fully trained to help you with breast feeding through the hospitals commitment to ‘Baby Friendly Initiative’ (BFI).
