Changes to Parking Charges from 1st March 2011
To bring the hospital in line with local parking charges each tariff has been raised by £1. The charges have not been increased for at least five years and this price change will still leave the hospital below average for NHS Trusts in Essex. The extra income will be reinvested to benefit our patients.
The Trust will continue to offer free parking to disabled visitors and to patients with conditions requiring regular hospital visits, such as those undergoing cancer treatment.
Increased Patient Parking Bays
The Trust recognises that the limited amount of spaces available to members of the public visiting the hospital is a problem, and is therefore planning to offer nearby off site parking to staff so that extra spaces on site can be made available for patients and visitors. Proposals are currently being looked at to provide a suitable solution for staff to make these spaces available.
Regular and Long Term Parking
Discounted parking can be arranged for regular visitors (those who visit at least once a week), for example those attending the Intensive Care Unit, Stroke Ward or the Children’s ward. Further details can be obtained from the Security and Parking Office on the ground floor of the hospital.
Disabled Parking
There are 25 disabled parking bays on site. You can only park in one of these spaces if you are displaying a Blue Badge.
All disabled parking is free of charge.
